The process

Step 1: Discovery call

  • We’ll discuss (virtually or in-person) your needs & budget

    • Needs: Do you want to furnish your entire home or just a room or two? Do you need an entire decorating plan from sheets to shades or finishing touches on an existing space? 

    • Budget: how much do you want to spend? We’ll discuss your needs and fee breakdowns so that we can set clear expectations.

    • Function: I’ll get personal here. Your home should be useful to you, not simply pretty to look at. We’ll discuss multi-functional space ideas, comfort needs, and more. Some questions include: what is each room used for? How do you live day-to-day? Do you work from home? Do you prefer to eat in the kitchen or at a table? Do you have people over? Do you watch movies nightly? Do you have friends or family come to visit from out of town often? Maybe you need a guest bedroom or a shared office/guest room space. Are your closets overflowing? Maybe you need more storage. Are you planning to have children soon? Maybe we can create a flex nook in a bedroom or landing.

    • Sentimental: make sure you get clear about what is sentimental to you (this could be a rug that used to be in your parents’ home, a vase that your grandmother gave you, or a wish to set up a comfy chair next to a window so you could read there like you used to at your family friend’s house growing up.)

  • Bring 1-5 inspiration images: rooms, style, designers, or vibe that you like! Anything!

Step 2: Measurements 

  • I’ll come over and measure everything.

  • We’ll go through existing furniture and decor and determine what will go immediately.

  • We’ll again discuss functional needs for each room

Step 3: Layouts & Mood Boards

  • Armed with measurements and the information gleaned from our discussions around need and aesthetic, I’ll create a “map” of each room with an ideal layout of major furniture items that combines design and function. 

  • I’ll also create mood boards with color schemes and initial furniture/decor curation. (The first iteration will be a combination of vibe, inspiration images, and some actual furniture ideas.)

  • You send back feedback. What do you like? Not like? What do you wish to see more? Send me more images if needed. 

Step 4: Item Lists

  • I’ll create adjusted mood boards & room layouts based on feedback

  • Updated moodboards will include actual curated furniture pieces

  • I’ll review “big ticket” item purchases with you: couches, beds, rugs, and curtains/blinds.

  • We’ll review the budget again

  • You’ll provide feedback. 

Step 5: Final Adjustments & Ordering

  • Based on feedback, I’ll send over a final Mood Board, a final Layout, and a final Furniture Order List.

  • A portion of the budget will be set aside for smaller accessory items and details that I will curate during the final process / move in.

Step 6: Move In & Finishing Touches

  • Depending on delivery dates, this could take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of months. As items are delivered, I’ll be there to receive them and arrange.

  • You enjoy your new space!!!!
