salt healing!

A little research post-dry-salt-therapy session in West Palm Beach

Dry Salt Therapy is sweeping the spa and wellness scene as a cure for everything from a runny nose to asthma to acne, and it draws a following at West Palm’s Kaffee’s Garden Spa. Developed once doctors in Europe realized that Polish miners’ lung function improved drastically following stints in salt mines, extended exposure to dry salt is now recommended as a therapy to improve lung function, skin conditions, and immune system. On its own or following Himalayan salt stone massage or reflexology treatment, the therapy itself is meditative solo-relaxation time while a halo generator (halo is the Greek word for salt) distributes the fine dry salt particles into the air for 45 minutes; a calming experience.

“Dry salt therapy is particularly effective and beneficial for lung function,” says owner Kaffee Keldie, "it’s a cleansing for your respiratory system, opening up your airways.” The energy of the dry salt is also said to increase the microcirculation of the skin, helping to heal wounds and skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and acne. “As with any alternative therapy, it's not a one time thing. It has to be experienced on a regular basis,” she adds. But after just one session, your skin will feel smoother and you’ll sleep like a baby. Trust me.
